Just as nature moves through cycles of rest and renewal, so do we. Wintering - the first gathering of the series - invites you to settle in for a day of strengthening, embodied movement, reflection and nourishment. A time to connect inwards and remind yourself of what your body needs in order to enter this next seasonal stage with quiet, strong resilience.
Winter is a time of reflection and a time to conserve energy rather than expend it. However, most of us are expected to be productive at all times of year, and the busyness of the festive period is one which can leave us feeling overwhelmed and depleted.
Created as more than a fitness and yoga morning, Wintering is a chance to slow down, turn your focus inwards, and explore what your body needs most for the season ahead. The sessions are welcoming and adaptable for different ages, abilities and stages of life — no experience needed.

Your Hosts
Katie Horne
Katie will weave together an hour of yoga, Qigong and somatic movement, inviting you to slow down and listen to your body's wisdom. The session will draw on the element of water, the Chinese element associated with winter.
Katie believes that only we can offer the best judgement on what feels right for our own body, and so although she will guide you through the flow, she encourages her students to tune in and find the confidence to move in a way that is truly beneficial to them on that day.
Hannah Gilbert
Hannah has worked with bodies for fifteen years, and knows the difference between a day to push and a day to pull back. Friendly and approachable, with a wealth of experience worn lightly, Hannah trains people of every age and stage and has a knack for meeting you exactly where you are on the day. Her belief is a simple one: training through the winter should leave you stronger and more alive, never depleted.
